The Basket Mug is a porcelain coffee cup inspired by the ridged structure of traditional bread-proofing baskets. Its horizontal lines create a tactile surface, while the deep blue glaze emphasizes the rhythm of the form. The design was developed in collaboration with the Düsseldorf bakery Bulle, bringing together the crafts of ceramics and breadmaking.
Although dishwasher safe, it’s recommended to handle with care, as the mug’s delicate edges are prone to chipping. For optimal care, hand washing is suggested. Each mug is a unique creation by Jimu Kobayashi, reflecting the artist’s personal touch and the beauty of handcrafted ceramics.
